Personal Data We Process

Essentuary processes your personal data because you use our services and/or because you provide this data to us yourself.

Special and/or Sensitive Personal Data We Process

Our website and/or service is not intended to collect data about visitors under the age of 16, unless they have parental or guardian consent. We cannot verify the age of a visitor, so we advise parents to be involved in their children's online activities to prevent data being collected without parental consent.

How Long We Retain Personal Data

Essentuary does not retain your personal data longer than strictly necessary to fulfill the purposes for which your data is collected.

  • Order data: 7 years (legal retention period for the tax authorities).
  • Newsletter subscriptions: until you unsubscribe.
  • Contact forms and email correspondence: up to 2 years after the last contact.

Sharing Personal Data with Third Parties

Essentuary does not sell your data to third parties and only provides it if necessary to fulfill our agreement with you or to comply with a legal obligation.

We conclude data processing agreements with companies that process your data on our behalf, to ensure the same level of security and confidentiality. Essentuary remains responsible for these processes.

In some cases, Essentuary collaborates with other brands or partners and may share personal data with these third parties for joint marketing or collaboration purposes. This is only done if you have explicitly given consent. We ensure these parties comply with current privacy laws and take appropriate measures to protect your data. If you prefer your data not be shared with partners, you may indicate this by contacting us at hello@essentuary.nl.

Use of External Services

We use the following external services that process personal data:

  • Google Analytics: for website analytics (IP addresses are anonymized).
  • Judge.Me: for collecting product and shop reviews.

International Processing of Personal Data

If personal data is processed outside the EU, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place according to GDPR regulations, such as Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs).

Data Breach Policy

Essentuary takes appropriate measures to prevent data breaches. In the case of a serious breach that poses a risk to individuals, we will report it to the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens) within 72 hours, and inform affected users if necessary.

Cookies and Tracking

Essentuary uses cookies and tracking technologies for marketing purposes. We do this to show personalized ads and offers and to optimize our marketing strategies. We use tracking pixels from third parties such as Facebook and Google Ads.

On your first visit to our website, we ask for your consent to place these cookies. You can change your cookie preferences at any time via your browser settings or through our website.

Accessing, Modifying or Deleting Your Data

You have the right to view, correct, or delete your personal data. You also have the right to withdraw your consent or object to the processing of your data by Essentuary. In addition, you have the right to data portability, meaning you can request to receive the data we hold about you in a digital file or have it transferred to another organization.

To do so, send a request for access, correction, deletion, or data transfer, or a request to withdraw consent or object to processing, to hello@essentuary.nl.

To ensure the request is made by you, we ask that you send a copy of your ID with the request. Please black out your photo, MRZ (machine readable zone), passport number, and/or citizen service number (BSN) for privacy protection.

We will respond as soon as possible, and always within four weeks.

Filing a Complaint

Essentuary informs you of your right to file a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens) if you believe your rights have been violated.
